Reber is one of the oldest European confectionaries that is still active today. The story of Reber starts in second half of 19th century, or to be more precise somewhere around 1865 when Peter Reber started small family cake shop business in Munich. Not long after, Reber cakes became well known in Bavarian capital. But for the unknown reasons, Reber family moves south-east from Munich in 1938 and settles in German town of Bad Reichenhall, right off the border with Austrian town of Salzburg and reestablishes confectionery business. It is still unclear just when the Reber family started producing Mozart balls, but it is well known that Mozart balls were the reason for dispute between Reber and Furst (Fürst) families over "Mozartkugeln" brand name. The dispute lasted for decades and has been finally resolved to the benefit of Furst family as the only authentic name holder.
Reber Mozart balls i.e. "Genuine Reber Mozart-Kugeln" are made according to slightly modified, non authentic recipe. But in spite of that, Reber Mozartkugeln are world's best-selling Mozart balls with well established presence on five continents and 50 countries worldwide.

Constanze Mozart-Kugeln

Reber is the first company to introduce the novelty Mozart ball to the honor of Mozart's beloved wife Constanze. Constanze Mozart-Kugeln has only one difference comparing to the traditional Mozart ball: the external coating is made from milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate used in "male" version of Mozartkugeln.
