Mozart balls nutrition facts: calories, allergenes and kosher certification

How many calories per one Mozart ball?
The editors of this website took the time and did thorough research to answer the questions often asked by Mozart balls fans who can't resist the indulgence when it comes this fabulous European candy.
Before we tell you the answers we've found, please take a note that we've investigated only three Mozart ball brands one can buy in USA.
Those are Mirabell, Reber and Manner Mozartkugeln.
This is what we've found.

How many calories does one Mozart ball have?

The energy values of all three Mozart ball brands available in USA are quite similar:
  • Mirabell Mozartkugeln weighs 17.1 grams or 0.6 oz per ball and the energy value of one ball is 94 kcal (393 kJ)
  • Reber Mozart ball weighs 20 grams or 0.7 oz per ball and the nutritive energy of a ball is 101 kcal (425 kJ)
  • Manner Mozart ball weighs 16.5 grams or 0.58 oz and one ball energy is 90.75 kcal (378 kJ)
If one takes Mozart balls weight variations into account, it's OK to conclude that the difference in calories between the brands are negligible.

Can I get an allergic reaction after consuming Mozart balls?

Well, it depends strongly on what are you allergic to. If you are allergic to gluten, nuts of any kind, milk or the eggs, the chances are none of the above Mozart ball brands would suit you because pistachio, hazelnuts, almonds, lactose and milk powder are mandatory ingredients. Occasional wheat or eggs presence is not deliberate, but is possible and therefore not excluded.

Are Mozart balls vegan friendly?

No, they are not because of at least three ingredients derived from cow milk. In fact, most of the Mozart balls ingredients declarations clearly underline Alpen milk presence as the key ingredient.

Are Mozart balls kosher approved?

The only Mozartkugeln brand available in USA that clearly states kosher certification according to Jewish dietary law is Reber Mozart balls. Manner and Mirabell Mozartkugeln do not mention this information in their product declaration.
